Summer is approaching and it is time for rosé! On June 1, Systembolaget will receive an addition to its range of non-alcoholic rosé wines with Cognato Rosé.
“The risk with non-alcoholic wines is that they can easily taste like juice instead of wine. We have made a rosé wine with a relatively low sugar content. Cognato Rosé is made from the South African grape Pinotage, which gives hints of sun-ripened strawberries and tropical fruit, with a fresh grape berry at the end.” – David Sommestad, partner at Sommestad & Malmnäs
The idea with Cognato has been to create an alcohol-free alternative for the dinner table. Both content and packaging must fit in with the alcoholic wines served. A big challenge was to lower the sugar content, without losing the fullness of the non-alcoholic wine for that matter.
Available in most of Systembolagets stores from 1 June 2019.
